Mass of the string: ms= 25.0 g

Length of the twine: lt= 4.00 m

Mass of the twine: mt= 75.0 g

Formula used:

The coefficient of the reflection is given as:

  r =vt- vsvt+ vs

The coefficient of the transmission is given as:

  τ =2vtvt+ vs

Calculation:

The speed of the pulse on the string is calculated as:

  vt=FTμt...... (1)

The speed of the pulse on the twine is calculated as:

  vs=FTμs...... (2)

Divide the equation (2) by equation (1) as:

  vsvt=μtμs...... (3)

μt for the string is given as:

  μt=mtlt

μs for the string is given as:

Now, the coefficient of the reflection is calculated as:
