Autonomic nervous system involves in the involuntary actions of the body like heartbeat, circulation, and respiration etc. Autonomic nervous system is divided into sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems based on its mode of action. Sympathetic nervous system regulates the involuntary actions and physiology. Sympathetic nervous system originates from the central nervous system of spinal cord and extends all along the body from thoracic to sacral region and innervates the target organs.
