To discuss:

The functional relationship between the primary sensory cortex and the sensory association areas.

Introduction:

The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain; it is concerned with special and general senses. Most of the cerebral cortex is made up of the parietal, occipital, temporal, and insula lobes. The primary sensory cortex is the region where the sensory inputs are received and the person becomes conscious to a stimulus. Association areas are present adjacent to the primary cortex and the sensory information are interpreted in this center.
