Summary Introduction

To describe: The distribution of five major branches that arise from the three cords.

Concept introduction: The brachial plexus are present on both sides (left and right) and innervate the upper limbs as a network of nerves. The anterior rami of spinal nerves C5 – T1 forms the brachial plexus on each side. Its components extend to the lateral side from the neck, pass superiorly to the first rib, and further continue into the axilla. The pectoral girdles and the entire upper limb are innervated by the brachial plexus.
