The sympathetic nervous system (SNS) as well as the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) are the two parts of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). These two nervous systems work in a regulated manner as they are dependent on each other for maintaining homeostasis in the body. They work opposite to each other.
