To determine:
A favorite sports team and identify the members that seem to play the role of a task specialist and a socio-emotional role, and study the behaviors that were observed for each type of role.
Introduction:
A cricket team was chosen for the purpose. This team consists of 11 members and team roles are played between them accordingly.
There are two member roles in a team; task specialist and socio-emotional role. Task specialist role reflects a person who spends his time in motivating and pushing the team to achieve its goal, and displays behaviors such as initiating ideas, give opinions, seek information, summarize and energize the team.
On the other hand, a socio-emotional role is played by someone who would support the emotional needs of the team members and assist in strengthening their social entity. They display behavior such as encouraging, harmonizing, reducing tension, following the team and compromising.
