Ring-opening of epoxide: The epoxide is an electrophilic functional group and attacked by a Nucleophile at the less substituted carbon via ${\text{S}}_{\text{N}}\text{2}$ process.

Useful reagents:

1. a) $\text{prop-2-ynemagnesium bromide}$: A strong Nucleophile reacts with an epoxide in a ring-opening reaction, to attack the less substituted side.
