Introduction:

A pathogen invades the tissue of an individual to cause infection. When infectious causative agents transmitted from either a portal of exit or a reservoir to the portal of entry of another host is termed as disease transmission. As infections develop from the portal of entry. Hence, pathogens should exit from the patient’s body through “portals of exit”. Portals of exit are identical to portals of entry, but pathogens often exit from the patient’s body (host) in the excretory secretions.
