Introduction:

Any disease that is caused through direct effects of a pathogen is called an infectious disease. The pathogen can be bacteria, fungi, protozoa and parasites. Sequences of events that are following infections are termed as “disease process”. There are many diseases that contain five stages or phases following infections, which are termed as incubation period, prodromal period, illness, decline and convalescence.
