The difference between the myelin sheath of the CNS and PNS.
Introduction:
The main activity of axons is nerve impulse conduction. A nerve impulse is the quick movement of an electrical charge along the plasma membrane of an axon. The speed of the impulse is affected by myelination. Myelination is the process in which a part of an axon is covered with the myelin sheath. The insulating covering around the axon that consists of the concentric layers of myelin is known as the myelin sheath.
