At a Target store in Pasadena, California, an employee who was subjected to the walk of shame was released and never charged with a crime. However, the emotional distress of the incident led to the individual later committing suicide. After the incident went public, other Target employee in other stores told of their experiences either witnessing or experiencing the walk of shame. Target Corporation denies that it has any such policy.
