Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The probability that the ends of a polyethene chain of molar mass $75\text{kg}{\text{mol}}^{-1}$ are between $\text{14}\text{.0}\text{nm}$ and $\text{14}\text{.1}\text{nm}$ apart when the polymer is treated as a three-dimensional freely jointed chain has to be calculated.

Concept introduction:

Macromolecules are the molecules which have large size and a large number of atoms present in them.  Macromolecules can be classified on the basis of structure.  The four levels of structure of a macromolecule are primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary structure.  The three-dimensional freely jointed chain is said to be the tertiary structure of the macromolecule.
