Concept explainers
Determine whether it is ethically permissible to claim you have the proficiency even though you do not have while applying for a job.
Explanation of Solution
In any job application, it is important to say the correct competence level already achieved and the competence levels being achieved presently. The candidate may also indicate the future proficiencies he may propose to acquire.
The following statement will be my response to the above proposal:
Against the advertisement from the company for a suitable candidate for managerial position, I have all the qualifications except proficiency in CAD tool. Before the advertisement came, I realized that I should gain proficiency in CAD and had already enrolled for getting proficiency.
Since, I have already enrolled I intend to complete the CAD course and get the proficiency irrespective of the decision on my present application. It is not ethical if I do not mention the correct situation by falsifying my proficiency in CAD.
Conclusion:
The above reasoning clearly shows that it is not ethical if I do not mention the correct situation by falsifying my proficiency in CAD.
