To determine:

The reason for the iron requirement in red blood cell formation.

Introduction:

As hemoglobin is an iron-containing component present in red blood cell. It is a respiratory pigment that covers two third part of the blood. It provides red color to the red blood cell.

Hemoglobin includes two parts “heme” and other is “globin”. Heme is a form of iron while globin is a protein part. Heme (iron) is present in the association with the four polypeptide rings of globin protein that makes one hemoglobin molecule.
