To describe: The main functions of the limbic system.
Concept introduction: The limbic system which is also called the emotional brain is a complex set of structures present between the telencephalon and diencephalon. It surrounds the corpus callosum. There are various important structures present within the limbic system, namely amygdale, hippocampus, fornix, hypothalamus, and other related autonomic nuclei.
