To describe: The general processes, at each step of the pathway from DNA to protein activity, by which cells may regulate gene expression.
Introduction: Gene expression can be defined as the expression of a gene into a functional gene product. These products may be proteins and functional RNA (ribonucleic acid). Gene expression causes the synthesis of a protein. The gene expression is regulated in a controlled way depending on the requirement of the cell.
