Introduction:
Inheritance does not occur only through nuclear DNA (deoxynucleotide ribonucleic acid). The DNA may occur in various cell organelles (like mitochondria or chloroplast) present in the cytoplasm of the cell. The inheritance that occurs due to the DNA present in the organelles is known as cytoplasmic inheritance. It can occur through the mitochondrial DNA or through the DNA present in the chloroplast of the cells.
