Introduction:

The process of translocation occurs when a segment of one chromosome breaks off and attaches to another chromosome. If genetic material is not gained or lost such translocation is called balanced translocation. If deletions or duplication of chromosomal parts occur then the translocation is said to be unbalanced. In inversion the DNA piece is reversed and genetic material may or may not be lost. There are two types of inversion the pericentric inversion and the paracentric inversion.
