To find: the percent decreases of tickets sold.
Answer to Problem 70HP
The percent decreases of tickets sold is 30%.
Explanation of Solution
Given information:
A local theater sold 1200 tickets during the opening weekend of a movie. On the following weekend, 840 tickets were sold.
Calculation:
The calculate percentage, we need to find the difference from opening week and following one in quantity of sold tickets. First week it was 1200 and following one was 840. If we subtract it, we will get 360 tickets difference. Now if we want to know how much percent it is, we need to divide 360 with number of total tickets sold first week, to find change in sales,
Hence, the percent decreases of tickets sold is 30%.
