Concept Introduction:

Reaction of one compound into two or more components is termed as decomposition reaction. The source of reaction is light or heat that results in the breakage of bonds.

The steps involved to balance an equation are as follows:

1 The unbalanced equation with correct formulas of compounds is written.

2 Atoms on both sides of equation are compared.

3 The atoms are balanced by multiplication with mathematical number to equalize on each side.
