Explanation of Solution

Retrieving the selected item in combo box:

• User can determine which item is currently selected in a combo box using “getSelectedItem” method or “getSelectedIndex” method.
  • The method “getSelectedItem” is used for assigning the selected item in a combo box to a “String” variable.
  • The method “getSelectedIndex” is used for assigning the selected item in a combo box to an “int” variable.

Example:

The example for retrieving the selected item in a combo box is shown below:
