From a point of view at the sun, does the moon circle Earth, or does Earth circle the moon?
To identify: Whether moon rotates around the Earth or not from a point of view at Sun.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Massive objects forms a binary center of mass system, in which two object, rotates about common center of mass. In binary system distance between two objects remains constant.
From the point of view at Sun, Earth and moon forms a binary system. In this system both Earth and Moon rotates around their center of mass, but they doesn’t rotate around each other.
Conclusion:
Neither Earth rotates around Moon nor Moon rotates around Earth but both rotates around center of mass of Earth-Moon system.
