A hypothesis is a theory put up to explain an observable.

Only if it explains what is really witnessed is it valuable.

The hypothesis must be modified when experimental data does not support it.

Before an experiment is conducted, a hypothesis should be formulated since the purpose of the experiment is to confirm or disprove the hypothesis and to determine whether a new hypothesis is necessary.
