Interpretation:

The thermal wavelength of a molecule having molar mass $150\text{g}{\text{mol}}^{-1}$ at $\text{300}\text{K}$ and $\text{3000}\text{K}$ has to be calculated.

Concept introduction:

The partition function is a convenient abbreviation for the sum.  It is also central to statistical interpretation of thermodynamic properties.  A partition function is the function of thermodynamic variables.  The rotational partition function is calculated by the formula shown below.

  $q^{\text{R}}=\frac{\text{T}}{\sigma {\theta }^{\text{R}}}$

Interpretation:

The translational partition function of a molecule having volume $1.0\text{0}{\text{cm}}^{\text{3}}$ at $\text{300}\text{K}$ and $\text{3000}\text{K}$ has to be calculated.
