Chapter 13, Problem 13.1YT
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The chemical equation for the neutralization of the given acid and base is to be written.

Concept Introduction:

Neutralization is a chemical reaction in which an acid and a base react to form their respective salts and involvement of H+ and OH forms water. Generally, the reaction is represented as:

Acid+Base Salt + Water

When a solution is neutralized, it means the respective salt is formed from equal weight of both, the acid and the base. The salt formed from neutralization reaction is neither acidic nor basic in nature.

Students have asked these similar questions
Suppose that, instead of using NaOH, a base such as Ba(OH)2 had been used. What changes in the calculations would then have to be made to determine the molar concentrations of the base?
Name each of the ionic compounds below and provide the equation representing its complete dissociation in water.   the first one (a) is the example to follow to know how it should be done
Which of these is NOT an example of a strong base? O All of these are strong bases Ba(OH)2 ONH4OH O Sr(OH)2 O Ca(OH)2
