Concept explainers
Interpretation: Pressure of
Concept introduction:
Soft drink constructer added scratchy foam by forcing Carbon dioxide and water into soda at higher pressure. When opening soda bottle, pressures of Carbon dioxide released to attain equilibrium with atmosphere. Thus the soda foams releasing the carbon dioxide gas.
Henry’s law
Henry’s law states that dissolved gases in liquid are directly proportional to the partial pressure of the gas over the solution.
Where,
The quantity of gas will dissolve in a solvent depends on how often the gas molecule colloid with the surface of the liquid and become attentive by the condensed phase occurs by utilizing kinetic molecular theory.
Henry’s law cannot be valid for gases at high pressure or if there is a reaction between solvent and dissolved gas.
