Boiling point is the temperature when the vapour pressure of a substance is equal to the atmospheric pressure.
Molecules which strong interactions with each other through a variety of intermolecular forces like H-bond, dipole-dipole forces, etc., cannot move easily. Therefore, molecules with strong intermolecular forces will have higher boiling points because a sufficient amount of energy is required to break the interactions between them, so that they can escape to gaseous state.
The boiling point is a measure of the amount of energy required to break the interactions of a molecule with its neighboring molecules, so that it escapes to gaseous state.
