Neurons also called a nerve cell, are the basic functional unit of the nervous system and are the specialized cells of the nervous system that makes a complex network for the transmission of messages. They also carry the electric impulse. A neuron comprises the cell body, nerve fibers, dendrites, and an axon in its structure.
