Summary Introduction

Introduction: The central nervous system is composed of two major organs, namely the spinal cord and the brain. The spinal cord is a thin long tube-like structure that originates from the medulla oblongata of the brainstem and extends toward the lumbar region of the vertebral column. Most of the nerves from the peripheral nervous system arise from the spinal cord that takes part in sending impulses from the effector organs.
