To explain: The reason due to which the increase in the venous pressure leads to the development of peripheral edema.

Introduction: Edema is the condition in which abnormal accumulation of fluid in the interstitial spaces takes place. Increased capillary hydrostatic pressure and increased capillary permeability cause edema.
