Case Summary:

Mrs. Jones is showing following symptoms progressive decline in mental capabilities in last five or six years due to occasional memory lapses, confusion, and agitation to grief over her husband’s death six years earlier. On examination, Mrs. Jones show IQ score 30 points less predicted from her work history. A CT scan showed cerebral atrophy, and physician prescribed an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and Mrs. Jones showed slight improvement. Determine Mrs. Jones’s problem and how did acetylcholinesterase inhibitor help.
