Introduction: The thyroid gland is the vascular structure that is composed of two large lobes connected by the structure called as isthmus. The lobes are anterior to the trachea and inferior to the larynx. It is located at the lower portion in the front of the neck. It lies below the Adam’s apple present along the front of the windpipe. It consists of secretory cells called as follicles. These cells contain cavities that are filed with a viscous substance called as a colloid.
