One-and-One Free Throw Shooting In Exercises 88-90 of Section 11.3, Christine, who had a 70% foul-shooting record, had probabilities of scoring 0.1, or 2 points of 0.30, 0.21, and 0.49, respectively.
Use Table 20 (with digits 0-6 representing hit and 7-9 representing miss) to simulate 50 one-and-one shooting opportunities for Christine. Begin at the top left (5, 7, 3, etc., to the bottom), then move to the second column (1, 7, 6, etc.), going until 50 one-and-one opportunities are obtained. (Some “opportunities” involve one shot and one random digit, while others involve two shots and two random digits.) Keep a tally of the numbers of times 0, 1, and 2 points are scored.
