Introduction:

The electrochemical gradient is the gradient of the electrochemical potential, which is generally for the ion that is able to move across the membrane. This gradient comprises twosegments, namely, the chemical gradient, which is the difference in the solute concentrations across the membrane, and the electrical gradient, which refers to the difference between the charges across the membrane.
