Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Meiosis is a kind of reduction division that takes place in all eukaryotic organisms including plants, animals, and fungi. In this type of division, the number of chromosomes reduces to half from 2n (diploid) to n (haploid). It results in the production of four haploid cells from two diploid cells. Cells undergo four stages of meiosis during division, namely prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
