Why does the flexing of knee help to bring the avulsed hamstring tendons back to the ischial tuberosity?

Introduction:

The biceps femoris, semimembranosus and the semitendinous muscles are together called hamstrings. Their contractions are responsible for producing flexion at the knee and extension at the hip. A strain produced in muscle, leads to pulling of hamstrings resulting in sports injury.
