Explanation of Solution

Expert System:

• A work performed by a human expert and the same task is performed by a computer application is known as expert systems.
• The expert system is a knowledge-based system that models the professionals in that particular field.
• It is a successful form of artificial intelligence software.

Expert system acquiring and representing knowledge:

Expert system works based on the set of rules implemented in the software. These rules are acquired from the knowledge of the skilled person that can be used by organization. An expert system is an example of knowledge-based system. It was the first commercial system which uses the functionalities of a knowledge-based architecture. It takes the data which has been given to them and then it applies the system rules in order to suggest solutions for the given problem.

Case-based reasoning:

Case based reasoning captures and stores the organization knowledge. The past experience of the human are represented in the form of cases and stored literally in a database which can be retrieved later when the user come across the similar cases. When the user encounters the same case, it searches for the matched data stored in the database and applies the solution of the old case to the new case.
