Introduction: Mutation is the change in the original nucleotide sequence of the DNA. During mutation, the nucleotide can be added, deleted or transformed. It can be heritable or non-heritable. If a mutation occurs in somatic cells, it is non-heritable whereas a mutation in germ cells is heritable and can affect generations. It leads to different types of cancer.
