Interpretation:

In an ICPMS instrument, the interface between the ICP torch and mass spectrometer needs to be explained.

Concept introduction:

ICPMS processes the analytical work only after ionizing the sample. This is done by the ICP torch. The ICP has the necessary interface with other parts/operations of the mass spectrometer.
