Verification of right angle
Answer to Problem 38HP
Verification of right angle triangle is performed by satisfying Pythagoras theorem.
Explanation of Solution
Given:
Right angle triangle.
Calculations:
Here, we have to satisfy the Pythagoras theorem in above given triangle.
Pythagoras theorem is applied to find sides and hypotenuse of right angle triangle.
- In given triangle, we need to square two shorter sides and then we have add them.
- Addition of two shorter sides is equated to square of longer side.
- If results of both are equal then triangle is right angle triangle.
As per Pythagoras theorem, hypotenuse square is equal to sum of square of remaining two sides.
Applying Pythagoras theorem in figure given,
Above findings fulfil Pythagoras theorem. Therefore, we can say that triangle given is right angle triangle.
Conclusion:
Therefore, we are able to calculate measure of right angle triangle using Pythagoras theorem.
