Summary Introduction
To analyze:
The organelles that can be found to be more abundant and larger in cardiac muscles than in skeletal muscles and functional significance of that organelles.
Introduction:
Cardiac muscle cells or cardiomyocytes are the muscle cells that conjure the heart muscle. Cardiac muscles are striated, relatively short and stumpy. Thus, they are known as cardiomyocytes rather than fibers. Cardiomyocytes are very rich in glycogen and myoglobin and it has large mitochondria that fill about 25% of the cell. Cardiac muscle cells are very well adapted to aerobic respiration and resistant to fatigue.
