To discuss:

The muscle action and its relationship to classification of muscles as prime movers, synergists, antagonists, or fixators; reasons for these terms are not fixed for a given muscle but differ from one joint to another and their illustration with examples.

Introduction:

The actions are produced by the contraction of the muscle that causes movement of the part or prevents a movements by the effect produced by the muscle. Based on the action the muscles can be classified into four types-prime mover (agonist), synergist, antagonist, and fixator. But some particular muscles can express two different action from one joint movement to another.
