Introduction:
These are supporting cells that are located throughout the nervous system. It provides physical support and electrical insulation within brain and spinal cord. It removes debris from the nervous system. Neuroglia cells are present in central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.
There are four types of neuroglia cells that are found in central nervous system (CNS).
- Astrocytes cells.
- Oligodendrocytes cells.
- Microglia cells.
- Ependymal cells.
Satellite and Schwann cells are the neuroglia cells that are located in peripheral nervous system (PNS).
