Liquids are considered to be fluids. Fluid is a substance that can flow at a certain speed over a suitable space. Liquids can flow like gases, but slowly. The resistance of such kind of flow is called viscosity. Viscosity depends on the intermolecular forces of the substance. An increase in the intermolecular forces increases the viscosity of a substance.
