Introduction: Equilibrium is a state of balance. It is used to describe the ion concentration in body fluids and the position of body in space. The dynamic component of equilibrium tells about the movement through space. The static component of equilibrium tells if the head of an individual is not in its normal upright position. The sensory information from the inner ear combined with signals from joint and muscle proprioceptors tells the brain about the localization of the body parts in relation to one another and the environment.
