Chapter 10, Problem 18DC
Summary Introduction
The Bone is a firm connective tissue that comprises the skeleton in humans. It gives the structural support for the body and protects the organs. The Bone develops from the bone cells, such as osteoblasts and osteocytes. The two building components of the bone are calcium phosphate and collagen, deposited by the process called mineralization done by osteoblasts and osteocytes and osteoclasts are essential for the bone resorption. When there is a trauma for a prolonged time and excessive force applied to the bone will weaken them and cause a fracture.
