Chapter 1, Problem 64RQ
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The given conversions are to be carried out by dimensional analysis.

Concept Introduction:

Dimensional analysis is a way to interpret and convert units of measurement of a physical quantity and to find the relationship between them. A prediction of the relationship between units is to be made in order to convert one unit to another.

Conversion factor is a number which helps change one set of units to another by division or multiplication.

The conversion factors are as:

1 in = 2.54 cm,conversion factor is 2.54 cm1 in 1 cm = 10 mm, conversion factor is 10 mm1 cm 1yd = 3 ft, conversion factor is 3 ft1yd 1 m = 100 cm, conversion factor is   100 cm1 m 1 cm3 = 1 mL, conversion factor is 1 mL1 cm3 1 L = 1000 mL, conversion factor is 1000 mL1 L
