whether there is an association between Facebook use and age

Answer to Problem 5CRE
There exist some association between Facebook users and age
Explanation of Solution
Calculation:
To know about the association between Facebook users and age, calculate the percentages for each of type of the students. The table containing the percentages is given as below.
Facebook user | ||
age | yes | no |
Younger | ||
Middle | ||
older |
On seeing the above table, it is clear that as the age increases the number of user decreases.
Hence, there exist some association between Facebook users and age
Now, make the graph of the provided table of the problem by using MINITAB as below.
Firstly write down the whole data into MINITAB. The screenshot is given as below.
Now, click on Graph menu and then select the bar chart option from the dropdown. After this a new dialog box will open. In this, firstly select the option of values from a table, and then select the cluster option under two-way table option and then click on OK button. The screenshot is given as below.
After this, another dialog box will open. In this, select yes and no responses in graph variableoption and select age in row label option and finally select the option of rows are outermost categories and columns are innermost. The screenshot is given as below.
Finally, click on OK button to have the desired graph of the whole process
The graph is given as below.
On seeing the above graph, it is clear that as the age increases the number of user decreases
Hence, there exist some association between Facebook users and age
Conclusion:
Therefore, there exist some association between Facebook users and age
