Question
Chapter 1, Problem 4AWK
Summary Introduction
To review:
The method to avoid the placebo effect in a new drug test.
Introduction:
A placebo is a false treatment that looks like the real treatment, but is not. A placebo does not contain the active substrate that is supposed to help the treatment, it can be a sugar pill that looks exactly like a real capsule or an injection containing just water. During the clinical study, researchers give placebos to a specific group known as a placebo group to compare the effectiveness of the new drug that is given to another group known as the treatment group. It allows researchers to understand what would happen if the drug is not given.
