Concept explainers
To Explain: The way base units and derived units are related.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The base units and derived units are used as standard measurement of quantities.
There are 7 fundamental quantities which are measured in base units and are considered as independent of other quantities. Derived units are used to measure derived quantities. They are related to base units such that a derived unit is the product of one or more base unit with appropriate power.
For example: base unit of length is meter
Derived unit of area is
Conclusion:
Derived units are expressed as the product of one or more base unit with appropriate power.
